Stop Thinking and Start Doing
Hello, hello, and thank you for joining me today. Welcome to another episode of community creatives. Today I'd like to challenge you. Yes, it is a challenge! In my life, I needed to effectively challenge myself as well. So, here we go. I've already done this. Tried and true; and now, it's your turn.
I'd like to challenge you to stop thinking and start actively doing. Now, I know that this may be a bit of a challenge to overthinkers like myself… Who's feeling personally victimised? I am! So yeah, I get it. Take this journey with me and trust in yourself. No matter what your craft, no matter what your love or your passion, I would hazard a guess to think if you've tuned in today, it's probably because you're a bit of an over-thinker. So, I need you to stop.
Thinking is incredible. We should never, ever stop thinking. I'm not saying that. I'm just explaining that for me personally, when I stopped overthinking every component of my life, and everything that I was doing, and I started actually doing the craft, engaging in being creative and expressing myself and finding joy in all the things; there was a shift. There was a real shift! I connected to my interests in a bigger, more meaningful way. I felt more confident in my ability. I was able to articulate and verbalise exactly what these things mean to me. And the very best outcome is that I actually had generated a body of work and that led to wonderful feelings of success, accomplishment, growth, learning opportunities. And it really empowered me to continue moving forward.
I'm not sure about you or where you're at on your journey or whether creativity speaks to you. I hope it does, because anyone can be creative. Let's chat more about that another day. I want to challenge you to stop thinking about every single component. It will weigh you down and it will stop you from being yourself and doing the things that make you happy. And make your heart sing. If you start doing just one thing, one thing that you love that tells your story in a beautiful way every day, I know that there will be a shift for you as well.
You have the power to change those ruminating feelings of guilt and frustration. And the negative churning in your head telling you you're not good enough. You can shift that by actively believing in yourself, getting up each day and saying, “Hey, ha, I can do that!”
Go forward into the world and be yourself. Stop thinking every second of every day and start doing. I can't wait to see what you accomplish, when you find yourself.
All my love, Jacqui
